Marketing & Communications Coordinator

Full Time, $14-18 per hour | 07-03-2017

Wildlife Rescue Association of BC is seeking an energetic, highly organized, and multi-talented Marketing & Communications Coordinator. This is a primary role responsible for developing systems and processes to support communications, public relations and marketing. Working closely with the Executive Director and Development Coordinator, responsibilities involve developing and implementing marketing and communications strategies and plans, as well as interacting with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the organization’s messages to the public and the media.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree or equivalent work experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or business administration
  • A minimum of 2 years’ work experience in multi-channel marketing and communications
  • A minimum of 2 years’ work experience developing layout, photography and videography skills
  • A thorough understanding and experience of using digital media for marketing and communication purposes (including SEO, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter)
  • Experience of media relations, writing press releases and organizing media events
  • Experience of brand development and management
  • Ability to take products from concept to completion, e.g. newsletter, calendar, promotional video
  • Exceptional multichannel communication skills
  • A natural affinity for networking and comfort in working with corporate and non-profit sectors
  • Great skills in managing relationships
  • Good research and analysis skills
  • Financial planning and budgeting skills
  • Resource coordination and event planning skills
  • Experience working in the non-profit sector
  • Confidence, self-awareness and a values-driven approach.
