Marketing Assistant
Hours: 30 hrs/week
Dates: 6 – 16 weeks contract between April 23rd – September 1st, 2019
Pay: $12.65 per hour (13.85 from June 1st)

wildlife through marketing and promotion? Enjoy videography and photography? Wildlife
Rescue is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working Marketing Assistant to work
with the marketing team on the
public awareness of the organization through the creation of photography,
videography, newsletters and (social) media content during our very busy
baby bird season.
Positions are made available
through the federal Canada Summer Jobs program, administered by Service Canada.
To be eligible, applicants:
- are between 15
and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
- are Canadian
citizens, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been
conferred under the Immigration & Refugee Protection Act for the duration
of the employment; and
- have a valid
Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to
work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial legislation and
regulations.
Responsibilities
- Use a camera to photo-document wildlife rescues, treatment,
and rehabilitation at Wildlife Rescue
- Use editing software to prepare photographs for social media,
marketing materials, internal communications etc
- Create digital video content of the work at Wildlife Rescue
and use editing software to prepare short videos for distribution to news
media, social media postings, donor appreciation, training purposes etc
- Assist with the design/writing of internal and external
newsletters
- Assistance with working with the media, creating press
releases and media kits
- Archiving marketing and media materials
- Attend marketing team meetings
Requirements
- Experience in
photography and videography
- Experience with editing
software for graphic design, video and photography
- Ability to use graphic design or video editing programs
or willingness to learn
- Excellent
communication skills
- Good organization
and time management
- Reliability
- Able to work 4-5 days
a week, which can include weekends
- Enthusiasm for
the mission of Wildlife Rescue
